B I O Joey has been called one of the "pioneers of internet design". With titles like nerve.com, sonicnet.com and leary.com under his belt, Joey likes to think he's done the sex, drugs and rock n' roll of the internet. After garnering much praise and numerous awards throughout the dot-com era, Joey now works as a freelance designer in Los Angeles. W O R K Creative Director, Nerve.com March 1997 - September 2002 http://www.nerve.com Single-handedly designed, built and launched the award winning site Nerve.com in 1997. Oversaw all aspects of design through five major redesigns over five years with a staff of seven designers and programmers. Designed the look and feel of the site including the Nerve logo and came up with the popular nerve.com tagline "Think about Sex." Happily accepted a Webby award in 2000. Designed the wildly popular Nerve Personals which spun off to become Spring Street Networks personals used on over 80 websites including salon.com, villagevoice.com & theonion.com. Creator, Senior Designer, Leary.com June 1994 - June 1996 http://www.leary.com Designed and launched Dr. Timothy Leary's official website Leary.com in 1994. Worked closely with Dr. Leary from his house in Los Angeles. This site was one of the first websites to introduce a three-dimensional site navigation. With photographs of Dr. Leary's actual house, we created a virtual walkthrough of the house where books and archived documents are found in the library etc. Leary.com became a cultural phenomenon when Dr. Leary announced a live, online "de-animation." Happily accepted People magazine's Cool Site of the Year award in 1996. Designer, SonicNet.com September 1996 - March 1997 Worked with the Creative Director on this popular music website designing day-to-day graphics, new sections and promotional graphics. Designed an average of five promotions a week. Left to build nerve.com. The site was sold to Mtv and now links to vh1.com.
